This mixed-media textile painting by Brooklyn-based visual artist and designer Ania Brzeski (b. 1994, London) merges acrylic on stitched canvas to create a richly layered, tactile composition. Brzeski’s practice investigates how language shapes personal identity, using textiles, drawing, and painting to explore relationships formed—and constrained—through linguistic structures.
Her work incorporates the visual rhythm of writing, forming coded, encrypted, and asemic text that hints at meaning while resisting definition. Repetition, a signature element rooted in her background as a production maker, lends each piece a meditative, intentional quality.
Brzeski’s fine art practice has rapidly gained recognition, with solo exhibitions at Park Life Gallery and Norden Living Gallery, participation in group shows, and features at FOG Art+Design Fair and SFMOMA Makers Fair. Her work has appeared in London Craft Week, Monocle magazine, and leading design destinations across the UK and California.
